The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is taken by students aiming to study at a business school or graduate program in the US. This test is administered by the Education Testing Service (ETS), which is a non-profit organization.

Test Content

This section is divided into two timed tasks, which are:
- Analysing an issue
- Analysing an argument
The time allotted for each task is 30 minutes.
· Verbal Reasoning- assesses to ability to draw and analyse conclusions from disclosures, identify reasons for incomplete data, identify author’s assumptions and perspective, understand multi-level meaning, select major points and be able to distinguish them from irrelevant points, and summarise and understand the text structure.
This part is divided into two sections, each of which has 20 questions. The time allotted to solve these questions is also 30 minutes per section.
The three types of questions asked in this section are: reading comprehension, text completion, and sentence equivalence.
· Quantitative Reasoning- this section measures your ability to understand, interpret, and analyse quantitative information, and most importantly solving problems using maths.
This part is also divided into two sections, with 20 questions each, and the time allotted for each section is 35 minutes. These questions require more practice, and sometimes it might be tricky to prepare for them on your own. There will be 4 types of questions in this section which are quantitative comparison questions, multiple-choice questions with one right answer, multiple-choice questions with more than one right answer, and numeric entry questions.
