GMAT Syllabus: There are four categories in the GMAT examination, and they are as follows:
• Analytical Writing
Analytical Writing aims at evaluating the student’s ability to evaluate the given argument by writing a critique on the same. The topic in this section is mainly of general interest and related to the field of business.
• Integrated Reasoning
The integrated Reasoning section aims at assessing the ability of the students in resolving complex problems. This section tests the ability of the student in understanding the data presented in a tabular or graphical format. The section has 12 questions based on the topics like Multi-source Reasoning, Table Analysis, Two-part Analysis and Graphics Interpretation.
• Quantitative Reasoning
The quantitative Reasoning section comprises two sub-sections consisting of 18 questions each. These questions are in the form of MCQs and objectives. It comprises fundamentals in Mathematics like Permutation and combinations, Geometry, Ratio Proportions, Linear equations, Exponents and roots, Arithmetic, Elementary Algebra and Properties of Integers.
• Verbal Reasoning
Verbal reasoning includes various topics related to English Grammar. Questions in this section fall under the sub-sections like Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction and Critical Reasoning. It covers the topics like Subject-verb Agreement, Critical Reasoning, Sentence correction related to finding errors or omissions, Rhetorical Construction of sentences, Parallelism, Countable vs uncountable, reading unseen passages and Misplace modifiers.
GMAT Exam-paper Pattern:
GMAT is a computer-adaptive examination, and the difficulty level of the examination entirely depends on the correctness of the student’s latest answer. As per the new format of the GMAT exam, it comprises four above-mentioned sections and students are allotted the span of 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete the test.
